Periodic CPC

Couple of questions ref the title:

if i complete DCPC this year, will my DQC be valid 5 years after sept 2014 deadline or will i have had to complete it again before sept 2017 ?

can you use different JAUPT approved providers ?

When do i get the card? is it after completion of the 35 hours? or apply for it before hand so its in the system?

1 - Complete at any time before 09/09/2014 and the DQC will be valid until 09/09/2019

2 - YES

3 - It gets sent to you automatically by DVLA on the completion of the 35 hours

Dcpc card will last 5 years so will need renewing in 2017 ( i hope I’m correct )
you can use any Jaupt provider you like
you’ll get card after completion
hope this helps

Fraid not

Complete the 35 hours at any time before the expiry date on the card or ghost card for those with aquired rights and the 5 years gets added to that expiry date - not the date the 35 hours are completed

Hi. It depends when you passed your driving tests. If you held any class of LGV incl C1 before Sept 2009 then you have grandfather rights until Sept 2014 and your Driver Qualification Card will expire Sept 2019 provided you complete 35 hours before Sept 2014. In other words, there is no penalty for completing the 35 hours early. I did mine for PCV in 2008 and my card expires Sept 2019.

You can use any JAUPT approved training centre and you can mix and match between them as you wish. Each day you attend your credit is uploaded electronically and when the system recognises 35 hours it will automatically issue your card. The only exception is if you dont hold a photo licence.

Hope this makes sense. Pete

thanks foxstein and pete, i was hoping there wouldnt be a penalty for early qualifying.
passed C june 2008 so in scope for grandfather rights, good news all round.

Does that mean that if you take 35hrs in 2015 then your cpc is extended until 2024?

YES

Using the aquired rights timescale and not those who passed the initial modules…
It is possible to do 35 hours late September 2014 and then the next 35 hours in early September 2024

is this only for those with acquired rights, and what happens if you have acquired rights for psv but done initial tests for lgv

This gets fun !!

If you passed inital modules 2 & 4 for LGV but not yet got all 35 periodic then you got a DQC with these expiry dates on it -
09/09/2013 for PCV
5 years from initial pass date for LGV

On completing all 35 hours or if you have already done them the DQC will have this expiry date for both PCV & LGV -
10 years from the initial LGV pass date

so i could do my 35 hours now , and not have to do another 35 hours till 9 1/2 years time ?

Example of having PCV dcpc aquired rights and then passing all 4 LGV dcpc modules -

Done 21 hours of periodic dcpc so far
Passed all 4 LGV dcpc modules on 12/12/2011
Got DQC (driver cpc card) issued automatically with expiry dates as follows - PCV 09/09/2008 & LGV 11/12/2016
Complete another 14 hours of periodic dcpc making 35 and get a new DQC issued with expiry dates for both PCV & LGV 11/12/2021
The next 35 hours of periodic dcpc needs doing anytime between 12/12/2016 and 11/12/2021

how have you done 21 hours already are you saying that lgv initial will count towards psv periodic , as this would not have been uploaded ?
are you saying i only need to do 14 hours now ?

I used the 21 and 14 as examples

Any periodic hours you already did for PCV wil also count for the LGV in the example given

The LGV initial will not count for any periodic dcpc

with you now
