Anyone else see that Solstor wagon wagon parked perfectly straight and upright in a field just where the a52 meets the a1 this morning? Well weird.
Too slow for a picture though.

Was just about to start a post till i read this lol,the dust from it was still in the air as i passed, at least the driver was ok could have been a lot worse it was strange though how it was perfectly parked in the field as theres a fair drop of the bend , I’ve seen cars do it many times but not an artic it needs a barrier there IMO .
Driving a bit slower might be more appropriate.

If I was a betting man I’d say there’s a very good chance that is a factor in this incident
There are some deceiving bends there and they need treating with respect.
is that the same right hand bend where you can see where a truck has previously gone into the field, the tyre marks go for some way and look quite deep??
My guess as well, that fence has repaired a million times lol, the right hander at the base of the hill before camera right ?
I saw it this morning and afternoon on my way to and from work.
Apparently the whole section from a46 roundabout to first one in Grantham will be closed from 21:00 for recovery of said vehicle. There was a car parked there last month.
Spot on mark, there was a Leicester heavy hauler chugging up the hill in first gear with a huge wooden box on when I went past again.
What was so weird about the truck in the field was that it was perfectly straight and upright like he hadn’t even tried to make the turn and just went sailing off the road Thelma & Louise style.
Maybe he was ■■■■■■ at his planner!!
Ahh, schoolboy error coming to a stop like that. When you’re on the soft stuff you just keep going. Bound to be a gate somewhere

By the amount of vehicles that go off there I have long believed something should be arranged with the farmer to simply make a run off or something, I know it is down to drivers but sometimes they need a helping hand to show them the light.
Maybe if the installed large metal spears people would think twice about leathering around that corner ?
Straightening the road might make more sense, it is a very busy main road.
With that camera 200 yards up the road I struggle to understand why people chance it anyway tbh.
