I for one found the information gleaned from the site excellent. It allowed me to succesfully defend my self on a speeding charge. Also made me realise that the one i got four years previous i would never have had if i had read the site. Afew people have said you get more info from the pub and that is not strictly true, well it is now as i’m the expert in the pub! Best to read the site FAQ’s as thats where most of the knowledge is rather than asking in the forum all the time which as we all know,all forums have their very own bullshitters and ■■■■■■■■■■

Not quite true these days Dave, I think you’ll find that a few years ago our wonderful government introduced a warning into the caution that stated that if you chose to say nothing an inference could be taken from that and used against you in court. In other words you have the right to silence but if you exercised that right it could be worse than speaking.

Yep the prosecution could infer someting by the silence, but it is still hard in court as you have a judge there that doesnt want the case to go to appeal if convicted.
Whereas the declaration is admiting guilt, you cant sign it saying your the driver and defend yourself by saying you are not the driver, or find some other form of defence.
