Yep they do look very smart… :sunglasses:

The one jacknifed on the A 46 at Newark this morning 0500 were’nt looking very mint.

some of their unit and trls are old but fair play they are well maintained… not spoken to any of their drivers as they seem to be non-communicative

We ran in there for a couple of years 2001-2003 tipping and loading on a joint contract and they had just got a new batch of those FH12’s and trailers. Drivers were’nt on top dollar but said they were ok to work for.I did’nt have much dealing with the transport office but they were glad to help if needed and it seemed fairly laid back though I only went in at night.I reckon its worth giving them a call.

minimum wage bonuses for no damage but if there is damage to a truck/trailer and no one
admits to it then everyone loses there bonus.
any of the newish trucks are all ex jenkins and the chances of a new driver getting 1 is never,
lots of multi drop , cheese from scotland and the odd load of abp when morris is stuck.
the volvo with all the lights is gary pentons truck so if you see it speak to him always easy to talk to and
always looking for drivers hope this helps …

minimum wage

always looking for drivers

says all I need to know

THANKS LADS FOR THE FEEDBACK. WILL LOOK IN TO IT LATER.

Got some ex Hyton Coulthard volvo’s and an ex Sandy Kydd r580…

When i was on for NFT i used to go into Pentons a good bit. There was a kid aged about 10, or maybe no older than 12 shunting !!! I thought the truck was going on its own. He put a trailer on the bay next to me and couldn’t pull the pin and just casually asked me to do it for him !!!

Culina have taken a lot of the cheese work off them so might be not taking on.

Thats right Culina have won the The Cheese Company contract and Pentons store for TTC as its just over the road from Pentons yard. I used to load for NR Evans out of TTC in Lockerbie (self load) and a tip at Oswestry, terrible place in there hours and some of the staff rude beyond belief. Jumped for joy when Cullina got it, they are welcome to the place.

Pentons fleet is a bit long in the tooth but all well maintained (they have their own workshops) but after speaking to a few of their drivers I dont think the wages are anything great £7-50 to £8 and hour tops. The boss Gary I believe is a sound bloke to work for after speaking to the shunters in there. They are the sort of firm you could just call into and ask if they are taking on, most of them are friendly enough, ask for Trevor if you go in on nights, he’s the manager and a heplful sort.

had two lads from there started at the firm i work for the last one was driveing started sun night till friday i think doing scotland and down to london,
well i think thats what he said■■?
