Just seen on Indeed App,probably terms and conditions but still…
Can’t post a link was on a App.
You need to live local to Cannock, be unemployed and have a class two license already.
Pentalver have been after HGV drivers for as long as I can remember. Heck they even replaced their tatty HGV drivers required sign outside their yard last year with a bright new one. Have absolutely no idea why they forever have vacancies there, but I’d be real wary about legally tying myself into ANY haulier long term and especially one that cannot retain drivers.
Would think if you are registered unemployed and already have a class two license, then there should be no problem getting rigid work anyway, so not quite sure what type of candidate they hoping to attract?
I’d say the type of candidate they are trying to attract is a class 2 driver who lives around the Cannock area who would like to gain his class one and a actual job driving class one vehicles without going through the “2 years exp required” scenario.

One of the potential problems, is that to qualify for these type of ‘experience’ schemes which are part funded by the government, you need to be formally registered as unemployed for six months. Then you still have the major question as to why Pentalver cannot recruit drivers through conventional means and more importantly still, why they cannot retain drivers?
Dunno, just thought someone may find it useful…would be up to them to find out the rest.

Don’t get me wrong, I hope it may be useful for someone, just pointing out they need to read the small print, as nothing is truly free out there.
Incidentally Aspray at Willenhall will ugrade 7.5 tonne drivers to class two. Also they too will upgrade class 2 up to class 1.
A mate of mine worked at a place that did similar, they take you on and put you through your class one then you in theory “owe” them £2000,which is on a sliding scale that reduces by £500 every 6 months so after 2 years service you have owe nothing but if you leave before that they deduct whatever you still “owe” them from your last wage.
£2000 may seem a lot for class one training and test but that was because you also got paid for the days you were training which you wouldn’t do if you went and did it off your own back.
I suspect Pentalever will have something similar in place.
Some people believe that if a company pays for your class one then you are tied to them, that’s not the case…it’s not the 1800’s,slavery has been abolished.
