Is this the normal pay rate in Penrith! £60k, doesn’t look like a special job.uk.indeed.com/rc/clk/dl?jk=ce81 … 21ce69866b
Or a scam, no idea why it came up in my search/feed it’s nowhere near me.

I note it’s got the words “up to” so is that the answer, any decent tramping job could pay that if you max hrs and include all allowances?
There’s more haulage companies locating there now and a limited pool of drivers to recruit from.
delivery and collection of ABP products
If ABP stands for animal by products, that could explain them having to pay decent money.
There is an animal rendering plant near Penrith that gets blamed for the infamous “Penrith Pong”

Ah! That explains summat.
I always thought of ABP being Associated British Ports, but Penrith doesn`t seem likely for good ship access…
Any advert that says pays upto earning potential ote etc. Use it to lure people. As most just see the headline figure 60k a year
Quick calculation 60k a year minus 5.200 as they tend to include night out money makes it
54,800 divided by 52 weeks divided by 60 hrs a week equates to roughly £17.50 an hour .
That’s working 60 hour week. Tramping out Mon to Fri.
But then again that’s.not including any Saturday work Fri nights out etc etc.
Which would lower your houy pay.
Taking all that into account the advert does say night shifts. So on days be earnings will be less
Moral of this story any place that says potential earnings. Ote etc avoid.
Or ask the question at the interview what’s the hourly rate.
f they don’t tell you then avoid I know I would
They have a spot in Halifax. Pretty sure they are what used to be called Leo group?
This is going back a few years;

Alba Proteins or whatever they now called - been fined so many times for HSE and environmental breaches, but still keeps going as its a “vital local employer” which is total twaddle.
This was one of the company behind the advert trucks, think I’d pass on the job. Imagined driving that truck back to the depot covered in offal.

Good post, that was my first instinct, do a search on the company name and O-licence
Also HSE wesite searches too. Gives you an indication of what to expect.
They keep dumping part of their load on the northbound exit slip for Scotch Corner when they slam on for the traffic lights and go bombing round the corner. Was so bad one night Highways Agency had to shut the sliproad for several hours whilst they cleaned it up and you could see dollops of it all the way up the A66 to Barnard Castle where I guess enough had come out that it no longer went over the top every time they hit a bump.
Hate to think what state the back of the cab, the catwalk and the susies must be in. I bet it’s not a nice job dropping a trailer.

I’ve done ABP work through the agency and it was the best paying job on there, like about 30% more than standard Class 1 work.
If you were squeamish or vegan then I don’t imagine you’d like it, I used to collect dolavs full of pig’s heads from abattiors and take them back to base to be turned into dog food. Didn’t bother me though, someone’s got to do it.
