Pembrokeshire drivers

Anyone on here from pembrokeshire or do regular runs down through this way ? If yes who are you running for ? Just wondering how many guys I see on a daily basis use this forum …

Not a million miles away - llanybydder but work for a midlands firm so unless start or end of week on the few occasions I “out base” unlikely to be around west Wales.

I was born in Haverfordwest. I haven’t lived there for over 30 years but does that make me a Pembrokeshire driver? :stuck_out_tongue: My dad still says that calling someone a Pembrokeshire driver is about the biggest insult you can give someone. They’re not the best down there.

Years ago, as you came into Milford Haven there was a sign saying ‘Milford Haven welcomes better drivers’. When that sign first went up my dad cracked up laughing saying Yeah, I bet they [zb]ing do!

To answer the original question, we have a truck running to Ireland every week via the Pembroke boat. Sometimes it’s me, sometimes it’s not.

Not Pembs but close and we do cover the area for Palletline. Plus I lived in Whitland for a few months and that’s very near the border
Keep an eye out for “Midnight” in an 18 tonner - he’s our main man down there. Also frequent artics going to BAS in Pembroke. Not me though - I’m a night trunker :sunglasses:

Used to live , just outside of Carmarthen, many years ago, now only about 15 miles from there

I overnight in Pembrokeshire Thursdays, either behind morrisons in Haverfordwest or if I can make it cardigan so that I can to the eagle to meet up with the other Bristol drivers who regularly go there.

The builders merchants behind morrisons is the yard I work out of …

Not Pembrokeshire, but I do a regular run to Llanelli from the midlands, with the occasional Milford Haven thrown in for good measure… You can’t miss me, I drive the ugliest black truck you will ever see, pulling a coil carrier

I’ve seen ‘midnight’ passing on the road quite a few times, although not for the last few months, probably due to me working all different areas nights & days , & not the usual routes.

This is mine, work out of Carmarthen.

We’re down Pembrokeshire on Wednesdays, either me or my oppo; he’s got the 60-plate day cab.

Both long gone; Franklands is closed (though I think Countrywide still own the brand name) and ACT is a Countrywide store.

That ‘neck of the woods’ was quite quiet when I used to go there to collect animal feeds ( that was before I moved , probably about 13 years ago ish. …doesn’t time fly ! !

Aren’t there any Mansel Davies drivers on this forum? That’s surprising…

I’m surprised too - loads of em about. One parks in the auction yard near me and one in a village nearby. That one is absolutely stunning - 61 plate FH and its spotless everytime I see it.

I ran down to Pemboke Dock twice a week about twelve years ago, plenty of wagons to be seen coming and going to the ferry.
