Pegaso Troner`s

Is that Troner LHD or RHD ? if its RHD ,I only know of 1 and TD Williams had it on a years demo from Pegaso

It’s RHD, operated by Arion Transport, Liverpool Street, Hull.

I always thought they had it new, but now you mention it, it may not have been.
It was an excellent lorry when I drove it, it did Southampton dock to Hull
in 4 hours 15 minutes at 38 tonnes,no longer possible at a limited 56 mph.

I had been all the way to Almeria and back and only
on this last leg of the journey did I discover that it had a speed limiter which
came in at 65mph…

I think Arion did have some of the problems outlined in Propa Lorry’s post later
in its life.

Regards,
Nick

Hi Propa Lorry, it sounds like it was a nightmare. I wondered if the problems were mainly due to the importer, or was it just a badly-developed vehicle? I found this:
camionesclasicos.com/FORO/vi … 22&t=19738

Needless to say, the Spanish did not have problems getting parts, and were possibly more familiar with its quirks, so the more common problems could be worked around as a matter of course. Your patience and perseverance was admirable- the vehicle might have been more successful in GB if you had worked for the importer!

yes it was a shame, only 90 officially imported apparently,if they made more effort with the dealers and getting parts im sure it may of caught on more we had to get parts from our local sed ak dealer in broadstairs, they were very helpful but it took so long to get the parts from spain.
those of you who remember the A2 down to dover, you had the esso garage by the roundabout at whitfield, before the mcdonalds was built, anyway us lot in our cars used to sit up there,i could identify every lorry that came past by sound alone, impressed me mates at least, one night im there and a troner is in the entrance to the garage, driver walkin back n forth with a 5 litre can, great big tank on it,bein a nice person as i am i walked over and offered to help n bleed it up if needed,he sed no need, it does it itself, this one had a ■■■■■■■ in like a strato, but pegaso badges on it,cool tank aswell, why ya filling up through the sender unit hole? i asked, cos that bit is sectioned off(normal filler cap)cos i run this side on red and if it gets dipped i got white in there, quality, sure enough when he started it,that unmistakable ■■■■■■■ knock, music.
happy days, when juice was cheap, life was carefree and lorries had far more personality.

Hi there - do you know where your mate scrapped the Troner? I’m trying to find my silver RHD Troner H610AUS, which was last stored at the Bus Museum in Fife, but was removed a while ago, presumably to a scrapyard. Here’s a link to the last known pic of it in 2010: public.fotki.com/boballoa/lorrie … lmond.html
I used it for humanitarian aid to Bosnia and Kosovo back in 2000/1. Would love to know where it’s gone - many thanks for any info. Cheers!

I remember the Arion pegaso trucks very well a
s I got one from New when I worked there. I also did Spain and Poland in it.
I’ve got a picture of it at home in my collection. Arion was and still is the best company that I’ve ever worked for. I really liked the pegaso but the night heater was rubbish as it would pack up when you most needed it. The brakes needed re lining after just 1 trip to Spain. Other than that it was a good truck.
