Peel ports liverpool T2

At T2 container docks at Liverpool where it’s automated, when you drive to your specified location, what do the green and red arrows mean? I was there yesterday and I pulled up, first there was a green arrow, I did nothing because I didn’t know if I was supposed to or not, minute late it changed to a red arrow, again I did nothing, 2 minutes later the container was placed on the skelly. So with those arrows was I supposed to have moved or not? But they still put the box on anyway? I figured I didn’t want to move in case the box was currently being lowered and it would be better to not move and for the box not to go on then to move when I’m not supposed to and cause a serious health and safety breach.

I think the red means the container is getting lowered down on you… so dont move… well it is with the rtgs

I think you’ll find it’s something to do with Brexit.

All the ports in Northern France and the Eurotunnel have had markings painted on the ground, leading to the exits or a holding/customs area for clearance.

Green = Good to go

Orange = Need to be scrutinized by the Douanes

When the all singing all dancing brand new sooper dooper T2 opened, it was meant to be completely automated. So you booked in at the top terminal, your reg flashed up with where to go on the board and then you drove to the location. When you got there, the crane would be waiting with your box. It’d sense where you were, so you’d line yourself up with the crane, the 4 green arrows showing 4 down to 1 metres to go, then the green numbers showing centimetres, if it wen tred you’d gone too far.

Then they realised it didn’t work. (Properly. Or at all…)

So now they just tell you where to go, then take over the crane manually to drop the box on you.

Ignore them basically!

I do apologise for my post above, I totally misunderstood the original post.
The OP was obviously talking about green and red LIGHTS, not markings on the ground, I presume to indicate where the driver should be to COLLECT his box.

And we all know misunderstanding red lights can get us in trouble…

Hahaha.
It’s to.position your wagon for the box being put on. Green forward or back depending on direction of arrow, red stop.

I realise that now, hence my apology above.
