I think Steve the above lorry has been pictured in action on here before ,and in a magazine ,may be from Cauldon lowe .?

I was told by the current owner that it was the last pre Paccar Foden?
It was exhibited at Tipcon too iirc

Iam sure it was V8 ■■■■■■■ .

They were based at or near Cauldon Lowe I think Dan (Malmic will probably remember them) and had several old Fodens that went like the clappers! They had a Staffordshire Knot emblem on the front panel. A lot of those were ex Tarmac at Cauldon and had ■■■■■■■ V6’s in them. Somewhere on Flikr is a pic of their yard with several trucks in it.

FOUND IT! Gordon Yeates was the chap.

Pete.

I bought some wheels of him ,I think he’s in the sticks on the right between bottom house and ipstones .

Cheers for the info - it’s not gone far from there and will allegedly be restored.

Sorry if this has been on before. I believe the member Rigsby was regular pilot of this old girl.

Few more, sorry if some have been on before, dementia such a wonderful thing

All fresh Barry. The Hoveringham wagon is fantastic. Amazing how it was still in original livery in 1986, five years after the takeover from Tarmac.

Here’s two pics of a sister wagon in 1980 taken at Dene quarry.

Phillip Spencer still runs a wagon on Tarmac, he has a Foden now I think? I understand that Dene is reopening again, though I haven’t seen anything on paper about it. Dan will know, he knows everything!

Pete.

Yes dene is to re open, think only for dry off a mobile plant though pete,

Thanks for that confirmation Moose,I heard right then. Best get Chris some wheels quickly so he can start making his second million then! Anyway how is the old lad, still working or has he called it a day now?

Pete.

Ta for that. I had the odd spell in Longcliffe myself when working for Eric, only if I couldn’t find anything else as it didn’t pay that well with a six wheeler back then. However plenty of lads have had trucks in there for years and made it work for them.

Pete.

Snapped this near Longcliffe today…

That’s a cracking photo fryske, I wonder how many of these british built motors are still operating, I only owned one ERF EC12 tractor unit with a Rolls/Perkins 375, With the good old Eaton 12 speed twin splitter box, It could hold its own with all& everything running at 40Tonne gross, I wish I still had it to-day, Regards Larry.

^^^ was featured in Revs a few months ago ,had a higher ribbed sided Wilcox body in a previous life .

I saw this too…

Blimey Barry, those pics tested the memory cells! :open_mouth: I don’t remember that Foden of Stevie Fletcher’s at all, (it was possibly working from Dowlow in those days?) and I had forgotten all about ‘Rooster’ who drove for Bert Webster.

Pete.

Few Volvos to test the memory, including one khaki for Bonkey

Marvellous as ever Barry. Love the F7 in blue white taken at Peakmix plant Peak Forest. Used to belong to ‘chicken’ George Lomas and when he owned it, he used to say he’d had a bad day if he didn’t cart a decent load of coated with it.

Love the F7 of Alan Newtons. Also the lorry to the left seems familiar, the body that is. I’d hazard a guess at Turmoil’s old A series ERF.

PS, where was the khaki F7 taken? Looks as if it could be Caldon Low.
