Blimey Barry, those pics tested the memory cells! I donāt remember that Foden of Stevie Fletcherās at all, (it was possibly working from Dowlow in those days?) and I had forgotten all about āRoosterā who drove for Bert Webster.
Pete.

Didnāt Eric have a blue S80 or 83 tank before that Haulmaster Dave?
Pete.
That must have been Ericās last wagon. Looks like Steve had a power wash, but Bert didnāt !
thinking back you are probably right about the s80 , but my memory is of that erf he ran for years . grand bloke was eric , i donāt think i ever heard him raise his voice in anger .

Yes I know of the chap Rod, not personally but I know who he is. One of the Strangeās who have the electrical firm at Tansley I think? Something to do with the Steeple Grange Railway. I thought that Aiden might have retired by now but he must be younger than me, a lot of folk are it seems!
Pete.
You wouldnāt recognise many faces in Ballidon now Pete
The 8 wheeler LWS835Y looks a similar set of colours to this :
IIRC this operated from near Leek ā ā
I think Steve the above lorry has been pictured in action on here before ,and in a magazine ,may be from Cauldon lowe .?

I barely recognize the face in my own mirror Mick! Last time I went up there was when I was relining some brakes for Stevie Dunn and I nipped up to Daleyās top garage for some shoes, I had barely got out of my van when an āAdolfā arrived wanting to know why I hadnāt signed in! I told him that in 27 years I had never signed in but he just started quoting the āTossmacā rule book at me, I lost interest then, grabbed some shoes and left! Know what you mean though, they do say ānever look backā and they may well be right, problem is that even youngsters like thee and me have more of a past than a future!
I still see Keith Brown, George Jones, Alan Crowder and John Winnard regularly as they all live fairly close by and they seem to look no older and are doing OK.
Pete.
That must have been a while ago. I was enjoying tea and biscuits with Steve and his wife in their motor home at Carsington Reservoir last week.

I was told by the current owner that it was the last pre Paccar Foden?
It was exhibited at Tipcon too iirc

Yes Mick, a few years ago now. I did a few jobs on both the Foden eight and six wheelerās he had, MOT prep, brake relines and water pumpās on both. I changed the oil and filterās on Steves motorhome just after he bought it but he has moved house since then I believe and have lost contact with him. Usually get a Christmas card from him but Santas helpers didnāt bring one last year!
Pete.
