Tbh it wasn’t really ever to go anywhere
Seemed inevitable. Not surprised at all.
I wonder if his website will be closed down for a few days for him to ■■■■ and moan.
I suppose that the members will have subs refunded, not sure how that works when he spend £20’000 on printing
Tbh it was destined to fail, not enough support and considering Barry refused to come in here to look for support and relied totally in his Facebook group it was always going to struggle to get any sort of number of members for it to have a voice.
I also think Barrie’s unwillingness to answer certain questions and his constant deleting if comments/people from his Facebook page only served to scare people away from handing over their membership fee.
Its barrie he’s always been that way with his site. Ice been around this and other sites for many years and hes always done that sort of thing. I think its more to do with drivers being more an independent bunch rather than nit getting enough support on here
Its hardly a shocker. I’ve followed the Facebook page, and its just the same Kool-Aid being offered by the same people.

That’s his biggest problem, I asked a perfectly simple question one day and it wasn’t offensive or belittling in any way and he just got on his high horse, well that was like a red rag to a bull as far as I was concerned!!!
You got band or
£5 for lifetime membership now - being run non-profit apparently.
Seeing some sense or rumbled?

“Closing down to the satisfaction of some”
Nice little swipe there, comes across as bit of a cockwomble really.
Sorry but this is why nobody posts here any longer except for the few in the clique.
For all his sins, and boy does he have a few, at least Barrie tries to do something for all you whingeing ■■■■■ and this is all he gets in return, totally what should be expected from our UK lorry drivers. All zip and no trousers. Moan like ■■■■ but do nothing about it.
You really do deserve all you get.
moaning is what drivers do - but if people are asking a question and its not answered with anything other than a dig or some other form of wit or anger etc. then people wont come its pretty simple.
having said that we have lots of ‘unions’ people can join which represent or are supposed to the haulage industry, did they need one more? obviously not I guess is the answer.

I fully agree that all acceptable and reasonable questions should be answered and can not argue against that. As for the many unions we already have, they all seem, and have a history of being a little self serving hence drivers unwillingness to join them.

And to that you are entitled. You have the right to choose whether or not to join a union or fellowship or whatever it is the pdu are offering.
and whilst tongue in cheek chris is exactly correct - one driver on a good knock wont give a toss about someone who isn’t.
unless we go along the Holland route of hgv pay x a day then drivers wouldn’t stand together if their lives depended on it.
It is common knowledge that the British Hgv or Lgv, whatever you want to call them, drivers will never stick together. The simple way is to look after number one because nobody else will. I subscribe to this method personally.
Barrie is offering something for those who maybe aren’t so strong willed and all he is receiving is mockery.
The problem is that we are all working for different companies in different contracts,it’s not like doctors/teachers ect ect where they are all on the same terms & condition so when collectively as a whole they ain’t happy with something they strike over it.
Imagine me going into my works where I am happy and telling them I’m off on strike next week because some guy I have never met is unhappy with his work which I somewhere I have no connection with, people seem to forget implementing a change into a individual or small group of particular workers needs to be don’t by themselves directly with those they work for,why would someone(other HGV drivers) want to involves themselves in something that is not affecting them directly?
It’s not an “I’m alright jack” attitude it’s the way things are.
Crying shame, Barry had a dream and not enough support for his dream to come to fruition.
Oh well can’t say we didn’t try and help raise awareness.
Onwards and upwards.
£5 for lifelong membership doesn’t seem to bad, probably what it should have been to start with to take a punt.
