I’m going for my class 1 next week after having sailed through my class 2 before Christmas. Although I’ll be new to driving trucks I’ve been driving coaches for nearly ten years. Will this stand me in good stead with employers? Or will I be signing up with agencies to get my foot in the door?
I’m in Stoke on Trent and have a few big companies nearby that I was hoping to get in with.
Most employers/agencies seem to take the pass date of the category they are looking to employ you for and ignore all the rest according to many posts I have read on this and other sites

And this is what I find crazy. You can be trusted with the lives of 70 odd passengers but not a load of parcels.
What’s that about?
Funny isn’t it?! Had this same conversation with the examiner on my class 2 test - a pointless test IMO for those that already have PCV who regularly drive much larger vehicles with, imo, much more valuable cargo!
I’ve been a coach driver for 15 years. I passed class 2 and class 1 in January, the agencies done give a cr…p about what I did on coacies, only I didn’t have 2 years experience, they would only give me 7.5t at [zb]pince an hour! Only got a full time class 1 job with a local haulier in October and that was luck so I wish you the same! Crazy in’t it?

unfortunately as already stated a coach is not an artic therefore i would be highly surprised if any company took your coach experience into account
