Has anyone come accross this problem.
I cannot access any secure pages online (https) Ive tried all the settings and they appear unchanged from when it was last working
I keep getting a page that says “Cannot access this page etc etc”
I’m running Windows XP with 80GB Hard-drive and 256RAM(due to be upgraded soon due to slow running) would this be problem?
I tried joining PC Advisor forum but I need to activate from e-mail but cant access this (secure page)
Any suggestions gratefully received. Cheers

Try a different browser like google or firefox.
Googled it for you and came up with this but if no help try some other sites.

If not your browser then I would check computer and security settings.
Get a free spyware fixer and registry cleaner for your slow running.
Thanks guys I’ll try those ideas.
I had a similar problem, it turns out I had inadvertently let in a virus, see if your computer will let you run a different browser. If so, as advised, download ccleaner, ad-aware or spybot search and destroy and anti-malware bytes. Failing that once you’ve ran all them and cleaned your computer, if there’s no change, it’s going to have to be a reformat i’m afraid.
The Highway Man:
it’s going to have to be a reformat i’m afraid.
That’s a bit extreme for step 2
First off, run Windows Update, and make sure you’re up to date, then (assuming you’re running internet explorer) start menu → run → “inetcpl.cpl” (starts with an eye and there’s a period between cpl.cpl). Under general, delete your browsing history, then in the content tab, “clear SSL state”. If you’re lucky this’ll fix it.
If not…
Have you checked for spyware/adware?
Have you removed any spyware/adware recently?
Do you have a router? Have you tried connecting directly to the modem?
Do you have a firewall running? Can you connect with it disabled?
(Windows firewall settings - start menu → run → “firewall.cpl”)
Do you have the Norton virus?

Can you get on with Firefox, Opera or Google Chrome? (You only need to try one, just giving you a few options)
toowise:
I keep getting a page that says “Cannot access this page etc etc”
Does it give anything specific, or is it just the generic error page?
and clean out your registry too
use this c cleaner you will be amazed at what it finds
