Don’t forget you’ll need to earn that much more to actually take it home, given 60 grand puts you in the higher tax bracket…
More like £63k (and that’s assuming you can’t claim any allowances and don’t pay into any pension scheme).

So far, 0.0%…
Anxiously waiting for the boomers to retire en mass during the next two years, taking with them decades of experience and consequently the bulk of the productivity. Nothing like a demographics tree to spell hope and terror at the same time…

How do you come by £63k?
Higher rate starts at £50,271 which is £37,700 over your personal allowance. Not personal allowance on top of £50k.
Higher rate kicks in when national insurance comes down 10% so it’s not all doom and gloom paying higher rate
I still want to know where you can get Fred Perry shirts for £12?

Yes, my bad. It’s been a few years since I last got to pay tax at higher rate. Fortunately it was only for a couple of months until sanity returned.

Just Knocked back first offer. Should get between 5-7% but that would take us close to £60k for a 4 day week so can’t complain. Still, with the price of energy bills, food, fuel etc it’s still essentially getting a pay decrease but there’s obviously worse positions to be in, so count myself lucky to be honest.
Yeh, not a bad wage to be fair but I imagine the working conditions in hell are brutal.

You can get four for £20 in Turkey at the moment, or push harder and get five for £20

Haha yeah they are if you’re the unfortunate one routed over 9 hours!
My pay has gone up a fair bit in the past 6/7 years, don’t feel any better off for it though.
All these rises many drivers have had in the past couple of years have been wiped out by the rising cost of everything. So, we haven’t had a rise at all really.
