anyone shed some light on the rumour that Pawsons have bought Mill Transport recently, a mate who works for pawsons was telling me something about it, but he wasn`t deffinate with his facts
I know Pawsons, but who are Mill Transport?

Mill Transport are an outfit from Doncaster. Mainly White Scanias with Dark blue stripes and Blue lettering. They pull a lot for Hepworths concrete products and i’ve noticed them in Doncaster glass factory pulling curtainsiders.
I think Mill also have a place in the Midlands.
I’m sure they do fridge work,with yellow Scanias.

I thought they did Irish work as well and usually they can be seen pulling anything that will make money - seen them with Tesco trls on + FM and boxes.
I used to work for Mill (MTL) on the Celcius First (Frigoscandia) contract from Grimsby, they got there fingers burnt badly on that one when Celcius went to the wall, not a bad firm to work for if a little tight on the money side.

Only pay set amount holiday pay, not based on average earnings.
Did not pay proper o/t rates.
As I understand it now, they pay a “salary” of just over £400 per week, but how many hours they want for that■■?.
Plus side, you got your basic rate if you were of sick.
Trampers got 5 nights money even if they only did one.
Swings and roundabouts I suppose.

Tut tut, he’s not allowed to legally do that until he’s 13.
It’s gone up a bit since I was 13 though (which is admittedly nearly 17 years now). I got 2 quid for my hour-and-a-bit on a Sunday morning then.
