They have about 4 trailers for every unit. They will have one lad loading or tipping trailers and a couple of lads shunting between theatres.
Saw a rarity this morning - a Paul Matthews unit with a trailer :lol:
they have units? shock horror
never seen 1, only trailers
During the week when most of us are on the road Pm has done a lot of work over the weekend and on monday, a show will move out of a theatre on saturday evening and be in the next theatre on monday morning. The majority of trailers you see will be empty and waiting for the show to finish on the following saturday. What is the point of dragging an empty trailer 100 miles just to drag it back empty again 4 days later.
Lee G pretty much summed up Paul Matthews operation.
They’re a local company to me and although I’ve never been on for them I know a few who have. Weekends are obligatory and time off is always midweek. Run past their yard on a tue/wed and you’d think they’ve closed the gates . On a weekend you wouldn’t even know it was a transport yard if it wasn’t for the sign.
Cheers
