Anyone know anything about the Scania ■■ Not sure what he’s loaded with and it looks like the curtains have been removed
off the trailer as i cant see them tied back ?

Another great set of pics Dean. That trailer could be carrying poultry maybe ?

I wondered that “Suedehead” but cant see any holes for air ?

Talking of poultry heres one going through Lyndhurst in the New Forest. Used to hate following one of these especially in the
summer as they stunk.

S&A Produce are strawberry growers, operating a greenhouse complex at Marden, Herefordshire. The Volvo pictured has a Hereford reg. I lived in Marden many years ago- long before S&A were there.

Ironically, S&A also operate the former ‘VHB’ nursery at Waterham, Kent- just down the road from where I also lived in Kent.

During my time driving for Harrier Express in Faversham I loaded tomatoes out of the VHB nursery quite often - I’m sure Rowena would have been in there once or twice aswell.

Cheers all,

Keith

Thanks for the info Keith, what a coincidence you lived in those 2 places.

Thanks Colin. I remember one of A E Evans’ tankers taking some product into Briggs Dundee from BSC Chemicals Orgreave Sheffield, way back in 1970.It was an AEC MK5 Mammoth Major.

Nynas delivered bitumen to our quarry (Ballidon) along with various other distributors such as Colas from Ellesmere Port and sometimes Culloden Moor depending on what grades were required. We (Tilcon) also collected our own from either Coalville or Four Ashes, when the driver (who had been on powder tanks) first turned up at the Coalville plant they wanted to know if he was on the proper union rate for hazzardous products which of course he wasn’t! He then had to have a pay increase and discovered how liquid tanker drivers could afford luxurious cars and massive houses! :open_mouth: I had the chance of driving that tanker but didn’t know how the body tipped!

Iveco Powerstar, I believe. More common in countries with laxer length limits than ours! For example this NZ example is fitted with an 18sp Fuller 'box.

struggling with length limits.
