Hi Dean,
Boughey distribution are from Wardle in Cheshire near Nantwich, they have recently opened a new warehouse in Crewe.
They get containers in with items like princes tinned foods, pallet the goods up,then the pallets get distributed to supermarkets and cash and carrys etc.
Used to sub out of there in early 2000s they had moved to volvo from erf and fodens at that time.
Steve
Thanks for the info Steve, good stuff chap.

“Chris Webb ,did you ever go to the Texaco depot on Poole docks, where this Merc is heading back to. They used to
run Marathon’s and Roadtrains which i remember well. The Merc’s i dont remember which is odd so i wonder if they
were trailing them and never bought many ?”
Hi Dean. No,only PD Storage. The only Texaco depots I went in were Llanelli and Canvey Island.
Ok Chris, PD Storage does not ring a bell were they on the docks ?

Hanbury Davies MAN. Looks like the Winchester bypass. Think they park on Southampton docks
Didn’t they used to run the Southampton motors out of Eling Wharf (like so many others)? Having said that, they sold out to Wincanton many years go, anyway.
Its amazing how many fairly decent sized fleets have been bought up by one of the big boys. Its a shame all these smaller
companies are disappearing bit like when Framptons were taken over.

Boughey is a subsidiary of NWF Group, formerly known as North Western Farmers, and has been for many years.

Hanbury Davies trucks were based in Marchwood, not Eling wharf
Thanks for confirming Rob.
finbarot:
Hi Dean
back in the 60’s Drinkwater had about 200 vehicles. When they amalgamated with Sabey’s in 1978 they had about 35 with Sabey slightly less. The late Stan Ennor owned Drinkwater Sabey and the fleet was being steadily replaced/increased when he suddenly died and the company was taken over by Attwoods and then BFI I think.
They introduced a new livery and before long the Drinkwater Sabey name was gone.
Thanks for the info Tony,a big old concern back in the 60’s.

Heres one of there Foden’s from 1964.
