I think the blue Alpha BU02FME is still giving service in the Buxton area ,As they do

I took my Class 3 on a TM exactly like that one - it could even have been that one - with Wiltshire Transport Training from Devizes. They’re still going today.
Although the TM was a nice drive, certainly to learn on, it had the turning circle of an ocean liner  A lot of the training, and the test, was based in Swindon and the infamous Magic Roundabout. Pretty daunting in a car, let alone a lorry :open_mouth: :grimacing:

Great memories triggered by a great pic again, thanks Dean

Morning Dean,
It is one of Bernard Corbetts from Malpas Shropshire, I think he still has one of the ERF’s but runs Scania’s now, Cheer’s Pete

There was an article in one of the heritage mags about a TM tractor unit, that was also registered in Radnorshire like the one in photo above and if my memory serves me correct so was the one I passed my test in with Birmingham Training Group who was part of the R.T.I.T.B group, the local Bedford dealer must have had a good discount going at the time!

Hi Dean Mullards had a factory in Southampton on the right as you went into the town and they were part of the Philips group.
As for SFM specialist freight movements they had a yard near Cobden bridge in Southampton and had a contract out of ISR in Fawley refinery doing synthetic rubber to packing units at Membury airfield and at Yatesbury run by Sym’s of Calne. I had two trucks on that work back then, two loads up and one back of salt stored at Yatesbury every day and we knew every pothole on that road that’s for sure. Buzzer

Morning John, Was that not owned by Eric Rivers ? sold them a few F86 tractors.
TM was a chap called Julian. he ended up working for the council, amazing how these things wake up the old brain cells. Harvey

Sounds like that Bedford brought back some memories “Piston broke”  The trouble with “The Magic Roundabout” is that most of the
bell ends driving today cant even cope with one roundabout let alone all of those together. (Cant remember how many there are now, havent
been there for year’s ! )

Thanks for the comments Pete !
