Hi Dean the ERF is most likely to be Ronton haulage that was from Newport ,well known for stretching units into rigids ,regards Keith

Hi Dean,
I think the blue & yellow ERF belongs to United transport tanker division.

@ DEANB: here’s a detail from the 1965 AEC sales brochure you posted earlier today. It appears to have the Belgian cab built by Bollekens. It’s the first 6x4 unit I’ve seen with this cab. Robert

The Mercedes 1625 transporter was new to BRS Cartransport and based at Sheerness Kent. It was part of a fleet of about 20 or so identical Mercs that replaced the 1625 artics.
When new it would have been white with the usual Cartransport diagonal stripe over the cab.
I’m not sure who had it by this time, but nice to see it in it’s second life.

When new…

The bodies are different, the grille is different, you sure its the same motor?
It looks like an earlier model of the merc, and the body on the merc is fixed deck.

The two trucks in the photos are actually only one digit apart. When they were replaced it was only the chassis and cab which was sold with the bodywork and trailer being used on the new vehicle. I hope this clears up any confusion.

Priddys were Basingstoke based I believe but were taken over by QTR from Reading.

Pete.

I knew Peter White as we used to service his Austin FJK in the sixties when he was still a market trader (QTR = Quick Turnover, Reading), he later changed it for a Bedford TK.
