Hi Dean, The picture of the J.H.Willis Foden milk tanker brought back many memories from the 1950s.
For many years, my Dad was a driver for Liverpool Co-operative Dairies, and formerly with Greenbanks
Dairy who were taken over by the Co-op. J.H.Willis from Gresford near Wrexham used to deliver bulk
milk in steel churns to the large Co-op dairy at Lockerby Road, Liverpool. During the 1950s,my Dad was
a “Pigeon Fancier” and he kept several pairs of racing pigeons in a loft in the back garden. A couple of
times a week, Dad would send 2 pigeons in a small basket for training flights for release at Gresford on
the back of the Willis flat lorry, and bung the driver 10 Woodbines. Regards, Ray.

This is an interesting photo for me… William Hampton were based in Mitcham if i remember rightly but they also had a depot in Rochester Kent. The firm my dad drove for had two ex William Hampton Guy Big J8’s with Rolls Royce engines in them. Unfortunately they were very unreliable and had the Rollers taken out and replaced with ■■■■■■■ engines. Hampton’s were a big fleet back in the day but not often do you see a photo of one. Thanks for sharing the pic.

Looks like it was taken in Canterbury. Great shot

I don’t know what GTI stood for, but they were from the Canterbury area - it looks like that pic might be New Dover Rd.
GTI trucks used to be parked at various places in and Canterbury, but I don’t think they’ve been around since the late '80’s.
I worked with a chap back in the 90’s who had worked for them - on general European tilt work.

Was it an early Conrad Garrett Truck?

Hi Dean, The “Fork Truck Rentals” DAF, I think was part of what was Lansing Bagnall fork trucks from Basingstoke.
Lansing had depots throughout the UK, including Isleworth, Bristol, Preston, Warrington, and Buckley, near Mold
in North Wales. My longtime friend and fellow haulier John Wilkinson (See 1st picture on the Wigan thread), was
for many years the main carrier for Regentruck at Wigan. Regentruck were part of the Lansing Bagnall organisation.

Regards, Ray.
