Hello DEAN ,good to see T Alun Jones from Welshpool got a very big fleet now
DEAN ,i have read the Bridgnorth Transport article ,but truth to tell i had never heard of them ,i am from the Oswestry area and that is the other side of the county .
Thank you also for confirming the location of the Forresters F10 , yes they delivered to Llanwern and Margham steelworks on a regular basis ,and also a chemical plant at Ebbw Vale, thank you DEAN ,Trevor
The kwik save volvo unit is the somerfield colours as they merged with kwik save.
Brilliant photos as ever.

Dean Stelrad group are big manufacturer of radiators, etc. Once again thanks to you Paul and Mark for the photo’s and effort put into this thread. It is becoming a treasure trove of our recent past haulage history, i think everyone will agree.
Also enjoyed the Preston’s of Potto article as they are still just a few miles away from where i live. The main depot is still in the little village of Potto and the lorries have to drive down a country lane for a couple of miles before hitting the main road. If you look on google maps you will see what i mean.
Vesuvius part of the ksr group A61 out of Chesterfield heading for Sheffield think they also had a place at wansford think it due for closure
Hi dean, good article on the Bedfords I drove the furniture vans and drove this Bedford,I learned my hgv on this training wagon it had a 40 ft box behind it it was called crossroads of lougher ,Colin sold the Bedfords to the name on it
Great to see our old Southampton depot again after all these years.

I spent many wet windy nights having to shunt trailers there to make room for the one I was dropping and to get out the one I was taking back to Feltham. Then repeat for the second trailer Before the run was changed from memory to only one run to Southampton then a Maidstone/Harrietsham.
Buzzer:
Deano the F7 car transporter was one of Star’s run by Dennis White out of West Quay Road in Southampton, they did a lot of Reneau’s out the docks all over the country, before the F7’s they had F86’s think they had about 15 or so trucks and were in the same yard as TIP and there transport manager was Mick Sheppard who did the odd night shift to Basildon tractor plant for me both men now gone RIP, Buzzer.
Thanks for the info chap.

This is an interesting photo for me… William Hampton were based in Mitcham if i remember rightly but they also had a depot in Rochester Kent. The firm my dad drove for had two ex William Hampton Guy Big J8’s with Rolls Royce engines in them. Unfortunately they were very unreliable and had the Rollers taken out and replaced with ■■■■■■■ engines. Hampton’s were a big fleet back in the day but not often do you see a photo of one. Thanks for sharing the pic.
Another great photo…Looks like it was taken in Canterbury. Francis Davis were based just up the road in Faversham
Eagle way were from Fareham

Hi Dean, a connection.
Oily
Mould’s are a large concern in Reading recycling aggregates etc, they also have/had a large collection of classic trucks but I believe they have sold a few?
Pete.
