I remember this DAF . Was owned by a fella who used to park in a yard at Longham that is now a nursery. Think he operated about 4/5 of these
blue DAF’s, and as seen here pulled alot for Container Link off Poole docks. Think his name was Chris something ■■ Ring any bells with anyone ■■

Yes This picture looks like it was taken c1988 at the Clock Garage roundabout nr. Poole with me driving A998 OBK which was owned by Chris Dare of Longham

Thats him Chris Dare ! Always nice when someone spots one of the trucks they have driven. How many did he operate i seem to remember
he had about 4/5 of those DAF’s ■■ Do you still live local “steam” as if you look through the thread you will see loads of companies you will know.
Yes I still live in Poole and in the past drove for RA Bugler 1984/ FW Eaton 1985-1986 /Chris Dare 1987-1990/ Poole Waste Paper and ended up driving for Ryvita for 11 years. Chris had about 4 tractor units based at Longham mainly various DAFs but he did have a Renault for a while. I have some pictures of his various trucks and when I can work out how to put them on here then I will. Cheers Tim Vaile (Steam)
Heres another one of Chris Dare’s motors heading down Gravel hill.

Pete.

As Pete say above they were based at Shenstone, when i worked out of Penkridge a driver started that had worked at Whortons and drove one of these Fodens, may have been an S80 cab, it was a day cab with a fold down bunk and no night heater and he used to go over to Germany in it, it was Gardner powered so not much heat generated for keeping the cab warm at night!
