hello Dean ,…some smashing South Wales shots …the old man was chuffed to pieces with the Blueline clipping …one of his old mates drove for them …and apparently their was 3 Mandators in the fleet …not a great success Atkis soon followed …his maim work was steel to Liverpool backloading paper from Ellesmere Port to British tissues Maesteg .
Cyprian Fox were London based …but had a depot near Newport docks …great stuff from you both …lol …Geraint.
Hey Geraint ,their was a Blueline driver based at Hay on Wye years ago ,did steel to Swindon and Luton ,and other drivers based somewhere towards Hereford ,this was back in the 60s ,MT

Cheers MT !

I think the Tesel International is an old Schlumberger one. It’s a special lorry for petroleum research. The same is waiting in the front of “Carrosserie Pelpel” in Rennes (France) without any front bumper because a winch could be fixed.

Thanks for the information and photos “michel” i wondered about that truck. Heres another pic of it !

R.H.Trotman & Sons Volvo F12.

Bulmers rare F10 day cab. I dont see the point of buying a day cab ? Surely re sale value is much more with a
sleeper plus the weight saving cant be that much ?

Gorpat Saviem taken at Poole docks. I assume Renault bought out Saviem and thats why there was that badge on the front ?
I dont recall seeing badges like that before ! :unamused:

Yes,I think you are right eurotrans. I remember Manton Transport from Wetherby area well, they subbed for Wincanton at Maltby on the Malton Bacon contract. Then they sort of just disappeared. This is not my photo…

Nice to see the Richard Todd article, used to see him a lot where I was brought up and apparently he and his wife had a good relationship with the locals in the Shiplake area and were well liked. He was a Captain in the ‘paras’ during WW2 and was one of the first to land on D Day. He later played the part of John Howard (who was in charge of the glider borne operation) in the film ‘The Longest Day’ and another actor played the part of Richard Todd! :sunglasses: A genuine ‘hero’ of the time.

Pete.

Thanks for the pics Dean !!!
however the trucks of French origin are my favorites !!!

Hi dean, jaga brothers from Newport James and Gary their fleet is immaculate all brand new motors some ex Cardiff transport drivers work there they do a bit of everything

I think the volvo day cabs of bass Pete were f7s , I ran an ex bass f10 sleeper for about three years , it had a window passenger side in the sleeper area.
