PAUL GEE's PHOTO COLLECTION (Part 1)

Evening all,

was going through the posts and wanted to add detail to these.

aseries.jpg
the above truck is definitely a Clapcott tanker, based at the Nutsey Lane, Totton yard and probably just delivered bitumen from Esso Fawley into the Tarmac asphalt plant at Parkstone.
not sure of reg but we had a few of these, for comparison here is an out of service one VHO870N

old skool days when we had very tank walks and top of tank valve handles!

Next is another Clapcott VBO150K previously posted by Dean, I did drive this once or twice, my last memories of this were it running “white oils” out of the Shell Depot down in Poole.

Hi Dean ,the Handyman second from bottom looks rather like Morfa transport llanelli ,regards Keith

Great article on the Barton’s Scammell Handyman Dean
I drove it once (around a small yard)whilst it was having a few problems being sorted out at County Truck Services in Nottingham
Also in the article was the mentioning of Barton’s doing Middle East work
One of the drivers mentioned was the late Terry Bywater a dead ringer for Rigsby (Leonard Rossiter)
I had the pleasure of working with him at Stirlands and some of the stories he told about his trips to Iran were brilliant
Cheers Gary [emoji1303]
