 Yes very much so…the amount of times I cut my hands on those T Chests…and the amount of times arriving on a job where the customer had been given the T Chests before hand to pack…to find they had filled one or two of them with books…mind you still the same today with the cartons still fill them with books…just no common dance

Thank you DEANB for the recent pictures and story .

Small coal , its a like time since we used tea chests ,I got two on my patio (under cover) with a old barrow as a ornament  ,it reminds me of torn skin etc :unamused: .

this was how my dad got carried on his last trip ,he asked for it and we did what he wished ,although he did asked to be buried in a wardrobe carton !!! but we couldn’t do that .

A couple of ct loaded with bisons

I used to know a lot of Cardiff Transport lads, they used to work out of BSC Gartcosh and Ravenscraig when I did with KTS between 83 and 86 ish.
I remember one hectic night in a working mens club in Bellshill with about 5 of them, and about 10 others.
Can’t remember any of their names unfortunately  .but some of them may even be on here.

I was the young and cool skinny lad with the Magnum tache and long permed mullet :sunglasses: (  ) with an Atki Borderer,.and later on a 2800 DAF, Kirkbride Transport Services…(I’m now a fat bald guy with a Merc Actros, so you’ve no chance of recognising me if you do see me.  )

JAKEY:
very nice smallcoal .

What is the hardest removal you have ever done ,we had one in London 8th floor flat with a piano as well we had to hire a crane to lift the piano down to the van never again :imp:

Hi small coal , bloody hell I have to have a good think , maybe getting some where in Dublin before you good google map a gate entrance and having to walk 500 yards with about 4000 cuft ,and the neighbours kept moaning about the lane blocked !!! I have a think today and get back to you , as marktaff says we could all write a book about removals !!! I think I have seen it all .

I have grown up with removals but I did start my working life as a yts/apprentice then a full time fitter then a driver for British road services Oxford depot , but removals is in my blood, I love it, customers are the hardest to figure out at times , I get grumpy quick these days if they have already packed the tea stuff by the time to start ! that just rattles me :smiling_imp:
