Here’s one I took on Paul’s stamping ground - 1987, I think.
The British Commercial Vehicle Museum had the idea of an ‘A49 Run’, covering the full length of the A49 from Ross to Bamber Bridge. I agreed to do a trial run, but I never saw any of the other supposed volunteers that day
At a whisker under 10 tonnes, the trailer made the Atki ride quite nicely.

1Remember Sunblest used to run fleets of these ‘three penny bit’ motors all over the place.
0Leyland FG 550 Sunblest bread vans
I remember going to look at a couple of ex-Sunblest Atkis in Manchester in 1984, an immaculate Mk.1 with a 150 Gardner, and a ■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■ Borderer, both in bright yellow. In the end, I bought the View-Line instead

Thanks Dean, I did thousands and thousands of miles in that motor, and that trailer was one of my favourites.
Here it is again, with the last loaded trailer to leave Bowker’s old Blackburn Depot, one Saturday in May 1990.
The flat is a knocked-down Middle East tilt, and the load is the 1924 Thornycroft which was delivered to the restorers on the Monday morning, after which the trailer went for scrap GBV 759E Atkinson T3046XB ‘Silver Knight’ by Chris Gardner, on Flickr
DEANB: Frikus ■■ Mercedes. Something does not look right with that twin steer Merc, does that look like a factory built one ? Or would it be a conversion, does any one know ■■?
Looks like a 2024 to me
I have some old super 8 of a Greek one at the bottom of Imranli struggling home from Tehran in the winter of 78
As he had no wheels on the 2nd axle you can see the small tank & some of the set up
Pics are screen caps from the super 8 so poor quality unfortunately

Thanks Chris, nice pics again, would imagine the View Line was a pretty rare motor !
Wow, thank’s Dean! Top pic is of the first Rolls engined tanker we had at Ballidon, I remember helping to rebuild its engine just before I started driving full time. Driver is Vernon Wibberley who turns 90 years of age in a few months time. One of three brothers at Ballidon he is the only one still living, I’m on Facebook with one of his sons who would like to see that pic.
I`m going to show my ignorance here , but what was the Viewliner all about ? Was it a new version of the Atki cab that never caught on or was it an alternative to say the Borderer cab ?

The Mercedes 3 axles tractor could be an original factory built as this fine example restored in France. The typ is LPS 2024.
They look a bit odd to me “michel”,but thanks for the pic !

It was indeed - I’m pretty sure it was the first one ever restored, having had what was virtually a brand new cab built between 1987 and 1991:
