If anyone is scheduled to deliver to the above tomorrow to the above industrial area… Don’t, or at least get someone to phone first to see if it is closed tomorrow as well.

KCC or Maidstone Council have decided to close The B2079 Maidstone Rd Marden, at the Junction with the A229 Hasitings rd (by the Stilebridge inn Pub) as far as Underlyn Lane. The contractors have blocked the triangle part of the junction with tippers.

The diversion via Staplehurst, Marden rd, Park rd (Bunches Arch) Howland rd and back onto the B2079 in the Village is unsuitable for lorries at the best of times, but with the tree branches laden with snow overhanging the rd it is not possible for two artics to pass unless someone gets out and hold the branches up. It added over an hour today, having to keep getting out and pulling both mirrors in and I only had short rigid.It didn’t help with it being LHD.

The Village end of Pattenden Lane has a 12’3" bridge so don’t try a short cut.

thanks for that i might be going to berry gardens tonight was going to come in from the a21 via staplehurst to save going down linton hill in the snow and ice but i guess its ok as you obviously got down it.

Linton Hill is OK both ways, just need to mind the abandoned cars which have been there 24 hrs now. There is another one abandoned right in the entrance to Redwall Lane, you will get past it Ok just need to know that it is there.
