Past Present and in Between in Pictures (Part 2)

Mr Hewes looks like has all the best toys.

Edit to add looking again he seems to be saying they are all on air suspension not steel.

That’s exactly what most of us think of your posts.
You’re a failed apprentice who now claims engineer status.
You never got beyond an entry level role as a driver, yet try to tell knowledgeable and men of many years experience, how they should do their jobs.
Need I go on?

You know better than that, Oily.

The beyond silly price of truck parts.

I was an engineering apprentice who gave it up without finishing it because I wanted to be and was a driver not an engineer.
You’ve got issues that are nothing to do with me.Like Ro you don’t know me, you’ve never met me, you know nothing about my career and what I did or didn’t do as part of that.Suffice to say that I’ve been honest about every detail that I’ve ever stated about it.As opposed to your weird bizarre observations.Issues indeed.

If we’re posting pics of former cars…
Here’s my first ever car, it was even old then.
Mini.

Then a few years later my MGB…cool cars in those days, you could throw it around corners, it stuck to road like glue.
Swapped it for a 2.0 Triumph GT6, (no pics found) tried to drive it like the MGB and nearly killed myself, much faster but it wanted to climb trees if you threw it into a corner.:joy:

(Check out the hair and the baggy ‘soul boy’ David Essex jeans btw :scream:)

A bit more recent my Navara pick up trerrrk.:smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

Changed it for a bloody people carrier to pacify wife..went from ‘Urban Cowboy’’ to full on Grandad in one swoop.:joy:

That MGB looks more like a Midget with you on the bonnet how did you fit in it?

Suedehead posted this:

to which I add this:

Payload 7 and 3/4 cwt?
Well under half a ton then.

:joy:
I did actually have a MG Midget before that, yeah a bit cramped…and it made for a (very) adventurous ‘‘love life’’ .

Who said lorry driving wasn’t fun?

Am I right RR in remembering you said you worked for Trevor at Silloth ? What sort of work did you do on his motors ? He only ran the smaller motors as the largest one would have been his FIAT horse box .I’m sure if he’s still about but I haven’t seen anything about his possible demise on the British Harness Racing platform so he must still be about at Green Hamerton near York.
