old tractors scammells these scrap men don’t see the value. just value of the scrap

my motor manual gear

criminal. A rose from Newark are scrapping all.there old collection. that old shell AEC been parked straight out of service in 1977. been covered with tarpaulin. it was all original. even old pop bottle and newspapers in the cab from 1977. they is another 20 trucks to weighed in at brigg metals Newark

Blimey 23 driving a 4 pot diesel ?.That age I had an E3 BMW 3.0Si.Replaced it with XJ12 around late 20’s.

Also had a rare manual 2.8i MK2 Granada estate which used for general local trips and commuting and shifting household DIY.

The Granada was actually a better car than the BMW.I should have put a 302 V8 in it and not bothered with the XJ12.

sounds it lol. that R520 V8 topliner I’ve got at the minute is a manual 2017 one of Last R series. we got 2 new gen scania I don’t like them feel a bit tinny.

By that age most of us had taken on the responsibility of adulthood. Not many of us had the luxury of freeloading off our parents, all of their lives.

You could make yourself some money there even the old badges are worth something.I’ve seen two this week £50 - £75.What a shame , that looks like a Mandator

Mine was more sinister SDU ….. beer.

:joy: No my dad treated money like an endangered species. It was all funded from the 70 odd hours i was doing on a set wage.Nothing left or very little monday morning now Starmer takes it and most of the pubs are closing. The only good thing is he and his cronies are barred from most of the ones that are still open

“I remember when I used to drive a 24 speed Detroit engined Foden with a Leyland cab, 5 Volvo axles and a 10 speed wiper. But you try and tell anyone on that Trucknet thingy - they won’t believe you”

Aye, and a constant-mesh 10-speed wiper at that; though for the life of me I can’t remember if it was a range-change or splitter job…

Tis the season to be wary…

The splitters were the Judean Peoples Front. Or was it the Peoples Front of Judea?

I think the 10 speed wiper also had a rear wipe function but that might have just been an optional extra

Dont forget it also had brakes that were heat-sensitive - more heat, better performance
