Well, at least you wouldn’t be able to blow the bloody doors off that one!
You beat me to it Buzzer a superb photo
Seen the Humber Warehousing damage before I bet they got some stick over that, probably caused a demolition I should think.
@spardo I’ve seen it before, too. It always reminds me of a tale a Pommie workmate told me.
He had to pass under an arch to deliver foodstuffs to a mental hospital. He completed the delivery and found the empty truck no longer fitted beneath the arch. The soloution was to fill the back of the truck with patients. ![]()
Back to the picture, as I remember it; the arch was almost medieval, at least of some historic significance. The truck remained there, supporting the remaining masonry, until the arch was restored.
Could it have been at Kings Lynn? Something tells me so, and yes, now you mention it I do remember them being forced to leave the wagon there, almost as a template. ![]()
Sorry mate, the location meant nothing to me, so I didn’t remember it.
The middle photo of the BRS Seddon is interesting. Loaded with empty drums , why would he sheet the top half , they don’t need to be kept dry.Maybe sheeting them would make the load more secure. No that can’t be right because a well known contributor on here said the sheet doesn’t secure the load it just keeps the goods dry. Note the drivers roped between the drums and not over to keep the sheet tight .![]()

Quite correct too. Just throw some ropes over the round barrels.
What could possibly go wrong?
There used to be a cafe somewhere around Oxford Kidlington area before the M40.
It ran alongside the road which was an ‘old road type’ lay by.
Me and this girl spent a week away in an old Mini van in our teens , that was first time I was in, then later on in the 80s a few times when I started trucking.
A good cafe I remember.
Anybody know which one I’m rabbiting on about? ![]()
I aint questioning yer expertise at all Dennis, but I think I would have rolled a fly sheet over that.
Possible shoot forward on those front drums?
Semi load security and probably semi reducing wind resistance. I always used to put a drip sheet over a high load of empty pallets.made a massive difference to wind drag
A bit slow there chaps, didnt see this was already being or been discussed.
Exoecting the wrath of Denis shortly about grandmas and sucking eggs.![]()
Is the fire out?
