A good few of us had the joy of this for an office!!
Kew Dodge? Or at least another version of LAD?
Just had another look, not the Dodge, the bonnet on that curved down towards the back giving a nice smooth passage for the bedding arrangements.
Or Albion, the Leyland versions I drove had posher coverings of the dash than that.
I’m thinking Albion Spardo but gearstick telling me Leyland??
Didn’t the Albion have a stick like that though? And, although we can’t see all of the dash, the one or 2 Leylands I drove had a sort of mock plastic/leather panelling over it. The Dodge definitely had a different bonnet and I am pretty sure if it had a stick like that I wouldn’t have been so comfy sleeping in it.
So I am going for Albion, though mine had a metal dash but with rough little bumps in it.
BTW, if that is the driver’s view, crap positioning of the quarter light.

It’s a con job, she’s got you stitched up like a kipper (well, ok, we’ll gloss over putting the car in a ditch, had she had a drink?)…but you’ve got to keep em working, once they know they can get away with something it ‘happy days’ for them.
Tell her there are new T&C.s in the marriage and to put her back into it. And if she objects stop her ■■■ rations for a few days, she’ll soon see the error of her ways. [/quote]
Mmm, that’s OK up to a point but when you find him he could be a much younger lad and I wouldn’t want you to get a battering in your delicate condition! I have to do virtually everything for my missus so can’t afford to be poorly else I will get my employment terminated pronto, I’m even struggling to find time for the nervous breakdown I promised myself a few years ago!
oiltreader:
Surgery is a last resort to vertebral pain relief Kev, so must have been giving you aggro for a while with no doubt a few other remedies tried. All the best to a speedy recovery.
I have had cervical spondylosis(degeneration of the top 7 vertebrae) for few years now and a bad wee spell just over 3 weeks ago when the neck muscles seized up, applied a bit of heat and eased it a bit, following morning 6ish still very tight and watching early news when I went blind in one eye, lasted about 5 to 10 secs so consulted Dr Google, the advice, better ring GP, sounds like a mini stroke he said, we’ll get you seen to pronto, in the meantime NO DRIVING, at this stage he added “I won’t report you to DVLA” until further tests have been done, (he prescribed a muscle relaxant for neck, temporary relief). The hospital tests including a scan(carotid arteries) found nothing untoward with regard to clots or narrowing. I tried to impress upon them the seized neck problem may have caused a TIA (transient ischemic attack) which it can do. All being well back on the road Wed(officially )
Apologies for prolonging Emergency Ward 10, off to sort a few lorry snaps.

Hi Eddie, I hope your aches and pains heal up very soon, Kind Regards, Ray.
Thanks Ray, , oddly enough you get used to the aches, the daily grind but in a different context
Cheers
Eddie
“I’ve had the cervical spondylosis since ‘86. No fun is it. Haven’t had the temporary blindness, but constant pain. Exercise, physio’, heat, you name it. Basiacally our necks are knackered. Keep yer chin up.”
Hi peterm, in the past I have relied on chiropractor treatment which works for me, sharp neck twist left and right, ouch the problem is I can’t get used to not doing what I once did effortlessly.

Thanks to coomsey for the pics

So we were both right in the end, but with that view it seems the driver could see his nearside mirror ok but a little point of elvinsafety, what about that handle on the nearside, perfectly positioned to make a big groove in someone’s knee in an emergency stop. And is that a dead man on the steering column? Just to make sure the driver gets his share of the damage.
Here’s one for you Dean me and an old friend of ours on one of his brakes from Ralph Davies. Me and Alex, in Campogalliano, not well the next day. R.I.P. old friend.
Sorry this was the wrong site ,but still a good picture.

First week or two spent finding the things that bit you back!! There was plenty Spardo
I didn’t find it that awkward. It was a huge improvement over the Thorneycroft Sturdy, which had a similar arrangement but a whole lot shorter gearstick. It was positioned just right for clouting your elbow on a lateral piece of timber that ran along the rear wall of the cab.
