HI Folks , Sid Harrison a man far ahead of time 3 by 3 , 32 tons pay load 21 tons and only abount £400 POUND OR MAY BE LESS TAX ,when uther s running at 38 tons 24 /25 tons pay load £3000, may be abit more for tax ,there out lay £35 TO 40 THOUSAND, his abount £1500 ,theres thinking money for you ,yours Barry

and our scammells running at 32 tons , pay load 22 +tons,
sid was not the only one to run a maxi scammells
GET 772E scammell hywayman with a 33’ flat ,payload 22 and a half ton , 4 axles .
sid went for the 36 ton 3x2 that was about 25 pay load 3 more ton than the 2x2
remember that thease men worked on the lorry ulw that they had to bring home empty
them days 10 to 11 tons , not like today 18 +_

HI Turps ,Glad to see some others thinking on the same wave length ,we ran S/Atkis 180 /200 gardeners ,30 ton gvw ,with a tandem on you could just get 20 ton on the tax nearly £2000 we bought 4 tri axles very early ones on single wheeles but they were very heavy could only carry 19 & a half tons ,but the tax £800 just couldnt win ,a bit of useless info ,Yours Barry

Would that be the steel works at Shotton by any chance, we used to take plastic material there in the 70s from Commercial Plastics Factory at Cramlington, Regards Larry.
