Past Present and in Between in Pictures (Part 1)

Great stuff, Can you do anything with this one of Smiles for Miles MK 5 AEC,Regards Larry.

Love the mgbt Larry. Had an F reg one. I loved it. It would do 90 all day at just over 4,000 revs in overdrive. The big ends always rattled for a few seconds when you started it. I guess modern day oils mean it doesn’t do that any more. Ancient history, but after the divorce as part of the settlement she got the brand new MGB, X reg I think. I bought an xjs later. After you’d been in the XJS, you wouldn’t want to go back to the MGB!

Hi John, Ive had this for 15 year, Its just had a respray to tidy it up, & it passed the MOT Today, Corbridge show is on the 2nd July & Im booked in, So hopefully the weather will be good,Its very differant to driving my Jaguar XF Of course but still nice to drive with its overdrive box, Regards Larry.

Somewhere, I have pictures of the Jag. I’ll have to scan them and put them on here. Sadly, none of the MGBGT. I did love it at the time!

Will look at 2nd July and see if I can make it with brother Andy.

All the best

John

The negative suffered bad scratches that would need quite a time to repair. I tried to improve contrast and dark tones, but here’s the best I can do (just a minute’s work). Is the chassis & mechanics of this Mk 5 Mammoth identical to the Mk III?

Buzzer:
Love this picture but not a lot of tread o that front tyre by the look’s of things, Buzzer.

Plenty of life in that still, can’t even see the canvas yet!

Tryed to improve the photo for you Hope it helps.

With my old arthritic bones and joints I could mount a machine like that, I’d need a stairlift.

Leave the keys behind the front bumper, paperwork in the cab, and I’ll take it. 5:00am start in the morning.
