Great photo’s. Those FORD CL 9000 were a great truck in their day. I sat in one of the last brand new ones at a Ford dealer in Burlington Ontario back in 1986, then in one of the first conventional Aeromax tractor that replaced the cabover. Both were in special silver/marone livery.
Compared to the DAF 2800 and Volvo F7 I had been driving in the U.K. in 1984 they were huge. Ford made good trucks here in North America before selling out to Freightliner, who rebranded them Sterling Trucks. All Freightliner now!
Regards Paul.

Ford D Series at Tolworth roundabout early’80s, slightly less salubrious than its American cousin, with thanks to John Wakely.

In 1983 I got some new work to deliver "Video & Hi-Fi " cabinets to furniture stores
throughout the UK, so I bought this low mileage TK Bedford. John Beckett is seen
here adding the final touches after he had sprayed it white and blue.
I have a feeling that the “Midnight Blue” paint was what was left from a large tin
of paint that I had scrounged from Robert Baillie Transport. Ray Smyth.
by Boalloy at Congleton. Soon after it entered service,I had it converted to a curtainsider
for the multi drop Rank Hovis work. It was 13Ton GVW,and could carry 8 Tons of flour.
Ray Smyth.
Thanks to stevejones and Ray Smyth for the pics
Unloading from coal boat Enid at Lynmouth harbour.
