“will watch the program on catch up tonight”
it’s a two parter screened 27th/28th at 6pm , in part 1 he started at Dornoch, heading north through the Flow Country to Gill’s Bay in his campervan, bike and walking, there is nobody more knowledgeable of the Scottish landscape than Cameron, a bit like Alfred Wainwright and the Lake District.

Another forestry machine, guess a Latil mebbe, this time in France.

Hi Oily, I watched both programmes by Cameron McNeish excellent and well informed with some great film dispelling the myth that there is permanent horizontal rain in the Far North with those beautiful whitesandy beaches, just like the Carribean with the heat takken oot!!! The neolithic remains were on Rousay and Sanday not North Ronaldsay. I have had my car dangle on the crane of the Earl Thorfinn and Earl Sigurd when landing at NR also when visiting Papa Stronsay, its a case of roll on at Kirkwall Pier but crane off in North Ronaldsay and Papa Stronsay. I don’t know what Cameron was getting hystirical aboot his camper van those Orkney Ferries lads ken weel whit they are daein. !!
Cheers, Leyland 600.
Here are som images taken on a day trip to Sanday from Kirkwall.
