Great photos, I remember seeing one of their Atki tractor units with the first Gardner 8 LX Engine that Ide ever seen at Lawsons Café at Londonderry, IIRC They used to do a changeover there on a London Fish Trunk run, Regards Larry.
It was a blooming good job that the Leyland Comet was under that bridge when it collapsed, those keystones could have fallen onto the road and hurt someone. Right place, right time!

Pete.
I bet it buggered his insurance premiums that was an original roman arch . Just goes to show that it’s not just modern steering wheel attendants that can hit bridges .
Hi Buzzer the UKAEA ERF has been restored by a someone who works at Sellafield whom I know, this ERF and another 3 or 4 used to pass alang the A595 about a mile from my home enroute from Chapelcross Nuclear Power Station to Sellafield and reverse hauling 75 ton nuclear flasks. They ran at about 25 mph and were a complete pain to get behind on ths busy road. A superb restoration by John Thomas.
Cheers, Leyland 600.
Thanks to Dirty Dan, Buzzer and lurpak for the pics
The Comet holding up the Newport Arch, Ballgate, Lincoln 1964, again hit by a lorry 2004 and for good measure a double decker also attempting top deck removal at sometime.
A ramble along the A5302 in ■■■■■■■■ relying on Leyland600 for added info.
