That’s actually a Daihatsu Midget. There is a tenuous connection with Piaggio though, as they built Daihatsu Hijets under licence.

No need to be embarassed Kev, I only know because I worked for a Daihatsu dealer at the when that was new, the model was never imported here but I spent a few days at Daihatsu UK HQ, they had several strange models there for evaluation.

If I had to choose just one favourite photo of a lorry, I think this would be it. It just " smells " the very essence of all I remember of that era of wagon driving.
