Past Present and in Between in Pictures (Part 1)

Thanks to Dirty Dan, servo88, albion1938 and lurpak for the pics     also Leyland600 for the info and yes the McCallum wagon looks โ€œnewโ€.

This for rastone reference the Ford Trader he was involved with, I called by Donnie MacDonald at Howmore, Isle of South Uist couple of weeks ago to mention your connection, unfortunately Donnie was on holiday but a member of staff said it had been sold on to someone in the Glasgow area, so probably a bit of detective work required.

Yesterday was a Family Fun Day at Leyland Trucks (DAF assembly plant) to celebrate 120 years of lorry manufacturing and assembly in the town of Leyland. Here is a selection comprising most of the oldies on display and our new DAF 106, airbrushed as a tribute to DAF and its founding brothers. The airbrush artist started last Monday evening, lived on site all week and completed it on Saturday morning. The Leyland Beaver of Fallon is a very rare (in preservation) 2-Pedal semi-automatic, a lorry I would love to own.

Continuing after dealing with a puncture!

Hi Pete, I remember the Seddon bakery van operated by the Coop Bakery situated on an old colliery site at Brayton Domain, Aspatria (Speytri) to us โ– โ– โ– โ– โ– โ– โ– โ– โ– โ–  the photo could be somwhere on the main street of the town my guess is the Lawson St vicinity. Perhaps some other regular trucknet viewers can pinpoint the location.
Cheers, Leyland 600.

Hi Tony, yes you posted a couple of photos of the Trader on here, I have been made welcome at Howmore when calling in by, I would credit them with being masters of all things mechanical.
Cheers

Thanks to lurpak, pete smith and servo88,   the MGB came out in '62, Iโ€™ve moved a few of them, I considered them a well made solid motor, looking at the De Rooy wagon, the straps would be too heavy for me nowadays  not a problem back in the '60s :frowning:

This machine at Uig ferry port was a bit unusual, itโ€™s of Japanese origin, a Maeda and when trying to find out more about it came across this en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maeda_Ku-6, a flying tank back in 1939 :open_mouth: canโ€™t find any evidence of it actually flying thoโ€™.
