Snapped these Oily which one do do fancy driving? take your pick
Hi servo88
With the backdoor step at home a bit o’ a challenge nowadays I don’t fancy clambering about on transporters anymore, came across this wagon and drag pic today and I had a similar wagon for a while, Commer with Perkins R6, Eaton two speed, went quite well but not as reliable as the Leyland Comet 400 also with an Eaton Two Speed and same Carrimore bodywork fabrication. That top deck front car had to be chained by climbing the front support frame and using both hands to secure the chains which were on ratchet cylinders, usually the mates job but some of them were not up to it. I do remember seeing the odd outfit with a ladder for the job, though I suppose they eventually found a domestic home somewhere. The chap in the pic is a young Tony Horn, son of Billy “Trader” Horn.
