Triumph sports cars, well way back when Adam was a boy, seems that long ago but in fact it was 1957, I had one of these, I had photos of it but the problem was my wife took umbrage at the sight of a female in the passenger seat that she hadn’t been acquainted with , so guess what.
I traded the TR2 in for the Zodiac, a photo of which I’m happy to show escaped the wrath of scrutiny and destruction.

Job to get white wall tyres but I like the Model Y behind it
Hi rastone, the van looks a homemade jobbie with a slightly backward attempt on aerodynamics, I once hired (cheapo off an uncle) a Y for a weeks holidays, treating my dad, photos somewhere.
Oily
Yes it was and just a floor. That’s me in the driving seat but only playing motors. We went to London from Uttoxeter in 1951. The car was a 1934 model and he bought it off our local milkman ( whose name was Jack Ford ) for £60 and he ran it until 1959 and never had any trouble with it.
Anyway this Triumph seems to be causing a stir and here is another photo for Steve of the Jack Allen’s with the boss himself and a proper gentleman and he was only 63 when he died
rastone:
Steve with ref to the Triumph I messed up the reply so here it is again. Yes it is the Roadster and Jack Allen had one and here it is with John and his mother
And I reckon that’s Doug in the car with his mother - it certainly aint Tony!

BTW, has Jayne seen these?
Steve
Yes it is Doug.I don’t know if Jayne has seen it as when she came round I hadn’t scanned but they are from pages of an album that Doug gave me. I’ve found some more lorry pictures which I will scan and clean up a bit.
rastone:
No Motors here, but do any of you senior drivers remember this around 1957 when some floods were about. They put up a Bailey Bridge…Taken on the old A50 at Foston
We’ve got potholes like those even today round our way. …
Thanks to Lawrence Dunbar, rastone and gazsa401 for the fine old pics and servo88 with the balance of the present day wagons and to servo88 I’ve now edited the Foden locations you asked about.
That photo of Artie Hulland’s Volvo takes me back a bit! I knew Art and his wife, Beryl, from schooldays. Do you remember the old Seddon he had before that Volvo? He joined forces with Dave Smith and started Shires Transport in Burton, but after that went down I havn’t heard anything of any of them for years.
