Wouldn’t it be great for one of the modern lorry manufacturers to put a decent badge/plate/figurehead on a new model again :unamused:  , even these were a engineering masterpiece! Regards Chris

Excuse me, but you got this young lady lay on your bunk, looking like that :open_mouth: , & your modern day lorry driver needs a night-heater to keep warm  :unamused: . Regards Chris

The Saviem did indeed have a column change with a ZF six speed gearbox and splitter. Well, the one I drove in Saudi in about 1979 did. There was a MAN Dealer in Dammam and they supplied most parts. My memory may be hazy, but I seem to remember the electrics were more French than German. Why would you use delicate shades instead of primary colours?

Not sure if the MAN had the same ridiculous handbrake, which pulled up from the dash, hissed, pulled back against you - and had no effect on the brakes whatsoever!
