I remember Joseph Fish’s lorries, green cab and yellow wheels, from my numerous trips as a lad to Avonmouth Docks with the old man. I think that Western Transport were based just off of the A4 not far from Frys Chocolate?
Pete.

I remember Fish’s motors being usually covered in a decent layer of dust from loading in the warehouses all day.
And Buzzer, you were spoiled rotten- we never got to see Fry’s factory. we were always dropped off on the Downs and spent all day in the zoo. The coach drivers used the Bristol trips to catch up on their kip!

Just curiosity, does anybody know if the leader of the Peckover team is Nigel Peckover?
I knew Nigel when he drove for Eleco Transport.

Great old film Oily ! looked like the Seddon would have had a Perkins engine (P or R ?) either way I should think the Beavers would have been more reliable and I guess the Seddon would have spent a few miles “on the bar” at times on that gruelling job.Pity it was dark when they got to Kendal !! Cheers Dennis.
These Chinese Dongfeng trucks look okay in fact compared to that Volkswagen they look very modern. The Volkswagen must have been quite cheap to design it looks like a building block with the corners rounded off in fact the block might be slightly more aerodynamic. Eddie.

Hello Eddie, for a time I admit I was a VW van fan, over a period of 30 years I had 5 vans, 4 of them air cooled, not at all bonnie vans but hey reliable and before plugin diagnostics, I did my own maintenance. The last air cooled T25 I kept 16 years until the tin worm started getting a hold. The air cooled Beetle was ugly but lasted a long time, we used to collect them and the vans from Ramsgate, they were solid, simple and exceptionally well put together.
Anyway enough of VW here’s a motor from your neck of the woods parked up at the Inverness Truck Stop last week.
Eddie
