The driver and the truck were exhausted and both needed a well earned rest after delivering the bridge. Cromer Road bridge in North Walsham Norfolk.

Its a 1947 Reg, Essex CC. It also appears to have a heavey duty rear axle, Whats under the bonnet Dan ■■, Regards Larry.

It was a paid job for a mate of mine ,he bought 2 ,I fetched one ,he fetched the other .

That’s right from essex/Suffolk ,I think iam right in saying p6 converted from petrol to diesel ? Does that sound ok .

It sounds about right to me Dan there wasn’t many vehicles like this Vulcan with diesel engines in , in the late 40s Except the Leylands/AECs,Plus the Fodens & ERFs with the LW Gardners in them, Perkins Engines IIRC Were an option for the conversions, Regards Larry.

Am i correct in thinking that this Vulcan been on circuit a while,as i recall seeing it as a kid at the Bishops Castle steam fair early 80’s?
