Great photo of Sinclairs Oily , Part of the building is still standing in Newcastle I will get a shot of it to-morrow if I can, Regards Larry.

Seeing the shiny steamers and reading recently about the good old days made me think that it would be a bit
hard at times. These are only playing at the Great Dorset but given some of the maintenance in olden
times it was probably not unknown.

Hi Oily, My mother had a sweet and tobacconists shop back in the 1960s where obert Sinclair reps regularly called. I had completely forgotten about the company until Buzzer came up with his photo of Robert Sinclairs premises.
Cheers Leyland 600

Today we have a Morris WW2, cheers Buzzer.
PS. thanks for the Sinclare follow up, its amazing what still exists.

Can’t help with the product Buzzer but the van bring’s back memories. First ever motor my dad bought
was one of these. There was some saving in Purchase Tax I believe because it didn’t apply to vans but
after so many years you could fit windows into the van bodywork, which is what happened. There were 5 of us
altogether and I can’t remember what we sat on in the back but that van went all over the country.

Hi TF my old man bought a new Morris Cowley 1/2 ton van in 1955, the reg was PCR 808 and it had a grill made for taking pigs to market which was removed when we went on holiday. It went all over Europe, me and my two sisters had an ex army bell tent to sleep in and the parents had a mattress which rolled out for them. The old man had an old oxo box stashed under the bonnet with spare plugs and points for when we went abroad. I took my driving test in it in 1966 and remember it had a column gear change and think it was 3 speed, we had it for years and bought a later model and canabalised the old one for bits, cheers Buzzer.
