Hi Oily ,well done --my daily fix is your page ,but I would dearly love to see any trucks or buses that you drove when in your Oxford âstintâ !!!âtoshboy
Buzzer:
1Hi Oily not going back quite as far as you but two pictures, one of my 110 Scania on the top of Mont Cenis in 1978 on my way to Rome and todays examples which my sons now run so carrying on the business at Savona, only seven in the picture but there were nine on the job but couldânt find parking to get them all together. Nearly 40 years between and I think I liked it better in the old days, cheers Buzzer.
Hi Buzzer, Yes you have been there and done it, and now a fleet that is a credit to you and your family, well done, continue to enjoy retirement with your horses.
Oily
Again thanks to those who are adding congrats and best wishes
and to Buzzer, lurpak, Lawrence Dunbar and Leyland600 for the pics

Youâre putting me on the spot now Ivor, I took very few photos, a Box Brownie wasnât the handiest thing to carry around and itâs going to look a bit like the thread is all about me, so just this once
the first pic is halfway through 1956 and a very young driver under the tree, this was during a strike at the W Alexander & Son depot at Gairn Terrace Aberdeen, no sooner back to work and we were laid off because of the Suez Crisis and fuel rationing, I soon found a tractor seat( it was a Fergie) until my recall.
Iâve one or two taken when at W Alexander, Grangemouth depot, again obviously buses, so Iâll reserve them for the time being. Your main interest was my time at Oxford, so second pic 1961 at Summertown terminus and n AEC Renown, great machine, third photo my first wagon at Progressive and the year late 1962, the fourth Iâve posted on here before, but for you again, Alan Long whom you knew had this new for a fortnight, wanted a swop for my wagon and drag, it suited us both so I had it for two years approx., loved it⌠Apologies to the dyed in wool lorry men, though the odd bus now and again where relevant and or requested is always welcome.
Oily
One for the real lorry men, an able machine and a tidy load, thanks to Ronnie Cameron.

Deleted image, I have just seen this pic in a Commercial Motor Magazine link with the name Eric Taylor associated it with it.

Just a guess Buzzer I would suggest late 1950s early 60s.
Cheers Leyland 600

I reckon it could be '56 or '57. The newest vehicle appears to be the 100E Ford on the extreme right of the shot.

Hi Eddie, thanks for answering my request ,the Renown on number 2 route ! -a classic . I loved my short time on the coaches around Oxford -part time only, done Frostways and South Midland amongst others private hire but the novelty wore off and back to the trucks !! .
