I remember seeing a Sherpa luton blown over and lying on those railings above the slow lane one wild day late 70s. Eddie.

Fred Dibnah took his steam road engine over there on his final tour after he had been diagnosed with cancer.

Hi Oily, that bucket is a skimmer. I never had any experience of them, only excavators, but somebody who I worked with told me he had one at a firm he worked at and hated it so much he buried it. (just the jib with the bucket). It was found again though.

Old Thorneycroft mobile shop  . Anyone on here remember them? Bit before my time, my Mum is 87 & she remembers them coming round our Village(s) in the Cotswolds

Love the old Oil Company signs/Logo’s

Hi gom, being a fan of Fred Dibnah, I remember seeing it on the telly, if I remember rightly, he had to twist a few arms to get permission to cross the bridge, though I can’t remember why.

Nice pic’ of the old Seddon crossing Tower Bridge, but more interesting is the Hays Wharf Albion half-cab behind :open_mouth: , maybe for carrying timber/girders/steel-rod in longer lengths on the nearside?

One of Davis Bros. again crossing Tower Bridge, see the lads hitching a ride on the trailer just passed going the other way  , couldn’t see “Plod” letting them get away with that today :unamused:
