So that’s why my Scammell wouldn’t start …Boys and toys
All I have left from my toy playing days is this “Bedford” clockwork lorry which still works perfectly, anything else I had went to grandchildren, now adults. Didn’t realise I still had it until packing to move north in '96. The book was a gift in 1949, showing signs of having been looked at a lot.
Oilyhi oily get um on ebay that little bedford will fetch a few bob ,
Hi, Oily, The S-type Bedford brought back memories- I had the swb tipper version in almost the same colours. I used to make different styles of bodywork for it using the cardboard separators we used to get in Shredded Wheat packs together with liberal amounts of UHU glue which my mother had to scrape off various surfaces before the Old Chap got home!
A real one from 1960 - L to R my great grandma, great uncle Tom and 2 of the oiliest dogs in Europe in their Sunday best for this picture )

Thanks for that kevmac47… the pipes eh
I have quite a collection of music…surprise, surprise the pipes are not part of it, tho’ a lone piper playing a lament at a sad occasion brings a lump to the throat and there’s nothing more uplifting than a pipe band in full flow with music in march time. Pipe tunes in 2/4, 4/4 and 6/8 time played on piano or button key accordion, that’s more me, but again only part of my music likes.
