Another old hand from our area Larry.Sorry about photo size.
I took these at Wetherby a few weeks ago. I wouldn’t like to pay the tyre bill for this lot. Regards Kev.
Thanks Oily, I got in touch with Charlie this evening and hopefully will be able to visit the Dalmore site before they set off north.
Cheers, Leyland 600

The Bristol, now there’s one that looks as though the time clock stuck on the back wall of the cab is new. Spy in the cab. A very early type/attempt at tachos.
Hope that beautiful Leyland coach is repairable. Can we have a progress report?

Leyland Tiger PS1/Alexander C35F Motorcoach,CWG 286,1950,new as Alexander PA 184:-
This motorcoach was replaced by the following single decker omnibus in October 2012:-
Leyland Tiger PS1 1 Weymann B35F Single Decker Bus,LFM 302,1950,new as Crosville KA226.
Chassis No.492489,body No.M4143.Engine Leyland E181 7.4-litre. Rexquote,Stephen Morris,Bishops Lydeard,now ■■■■■■■ Classic Motorcoaches,Will Hamer, Anthony Hamer and Alison Morriss, Ravenstonedale, ■■■■■■■■■
This Leyland Tiger PS1 bus,LFM 302,was originally ordered by the Midland General Omnibus Company, but the order was diverted to Crossville.
To revert back to the Leyland Tiger PS1 motorcoach,CWG 286:Here is a quote from the Focus Transport Website:-
“The reason for the new addition to the CCMC fleet is due to the fact that their 1949 Leyland PS1/1 motorcoach, CWG 286,was involved in an accident recently and deemed by the insurance company as not being viable to repair. However this vehicle may one day re-appear, as ■■■■■■■ Classic Motorcoaches have retained the motorcoach with a view to eventually returning it to the road. If anyone knows of a rear drop section chassis suitable for a Leyland PS1/1 please get in touch with them on 015396 23254.”
Well, all I can say is the people who run that insurance company are wrong, and are very misguided fools!
The famous lorry historian and photographer,Peter Davies, owned a magnificent AEC Mammoth Major Eight MkIII Flat-bodied Rigid 8x2 Lorry,KGW 57,in T.W.■■■■ Nightingale,Garforth,Leeds, livery.Built in 1949,it’s an ex-Esso tanker, and a fully-laden Volvo F10 articulated lorry ran in to the back of this AEC in June 1995 on the M6 Motorway, causing major damage to the AEC. However, and very thankfully,Peter Davies’ wise insurance company gave Peter the go-ahead to get this AEC fully repaired and back on the the road!
I think Peter did all the repairs, using special equipment, himself
So ■■■■■■■ Classic Motorcoaches ought say "To hell with our stupid insurance company!
",and start using the insurance company that is used by Peter Davies!
